Boom Beach HQ25 and Warships Season 28 4ER Frustrations


Small update for today’s HQ25 daily progress report, I got lucky on my main account with no attacks, which allowed me to begin my 4th and final maxed Rocket Launcher upgrade. That should be a pretty big win for this coming Monday where we’ll see how it plays against the much more difficult Hammerman Strikes Back events.

Seeing that tomorrow is Friday with Imitation Game day, I think neither account will have enough resources to get any upgrades. I might just wait until the end of the weekend to see where I’m at resource-wise then pop as many Trader Tickets as possible to get whatever resources I can. At least for my secondary account, I should be close enough to start another Rocket Launcher upgrade. But my main account will probably be far off from anything useful. I might be able to pull off a Flamethrower upgrade though which I think will be useful in the short term.

As far as Warships Season 28 goes, 4ER is getting nasty for me. More losses than wins lately as I’m encountering big base layouts with everything under the sun. Tanks are just not doing enough damage at this point and being far too slow. Critter Cannons are vulnerable at times and can’t do enough damage on their own. They are great support vehicles but just having one per Landing Craft at this stage is proving to be a liability. Thus, I am convinced that Incinerators might be the way to go once I reach 5ER.

I do have max level GBE for my level, which should make Incinerators doable. They might be more competitive than Tanks at 5ER because of their speed and higher level damage. Also, they block the way to the Troop Damage node so it might be the right thing to take once I reach there. Also, they they might provide a lot less troop losses compared to Seekers. Plus, you probably can trade a full Incinerator load out with my normal Tank load out when they get low on reserves.

Unfortunately, that does mean eventually sinking a ton of upgrade tokens into them rather than something universally useful like Troop Damage or Building Damage. But it might be worth it in the short term once I get there.

On the positive side, my main account’s base has almost all the basic buildings for defense now. All I’m lacking is a 4th Rocket Launcher. Since I have to farm a lot of keys, I might go for the rank 4 level just to get it in position for the last upgrade. I don’t think I’ll have enough tokens even if I farm out enough tokens for rank 5 unless I plan to also farm out enough tokens for Incinerators. But I think the better use of tokens will be to put it all into Incinerators and Shock Mines once I get into 5ER. Also, I can always collect them while I farm keys for 6ER. But at this stage, it might just be too expensive to upgrade to rank 5 especially without the critical Building Damage node to make them worth it.
