Boom Beach HQ25 Hammerman Strikes Back Madness and Warships 4ER Grind

Mondays are always a weird day because it’s the start of the week and can either be slow or fast. This past weekend I had a lengthy, unending headache that might’ve been the result of pressure from the overcast weather. It finally seems to have subsided but it put a damper on my mood and activities. That said, I decided to go out, grab some Starbucks to enjoy my newly vaccinated status and take a breath of fresh air. But that was after getting through some events in Boom Beach.

The first thing I did was the usual round of destroying stuff and Ops before getting into Hammerman Strikes Back. The last two stages proved to be quite brutal for both accounts. Bombardiers are probably the most vicious troop in the game when you’re on defensive and that made up the stage 6 chunk of the troop Stage 7 was Grenadiers, which aren’t as bad for Bombardiers but in bulk with the wrong troop combos and it’s a pretty stiff thing especially on a Stage 7 where you’re missing out on a crucial 4th Rocket Launcher.

Nonetheless, I made it through using 4 prototype defenses on both bases. The big thing was using a Damage Amplifier to boost my Rocket Launchers. I think that helped tremendously. Also, I put out a Microwav’r the day before for some AoE. Twin Hot Pots are better in my estimation but when they’re not around, having a Microwav’r is about the next best thing for the smaller troops.

Now, let’s talk about Warships and tanks. It’s getting bad in 4ER. I’m aiming straight for the Barrage node on both accounts. My main account is struggling at rank 12 where I get some really shitty opponents. I think the Barrage node will be a huge factor. I haven’t decided if I’ll backtrack for the other GBE node next to the 4ER node but I’m guessing I’ll eventually invest into it. But for now, I’m probably going to pick up the two Boom Cannons just above the GBE node so that I can have 6 Boom Cannons on my base. And I will add Shock Launchers to the equation without a doubt just because I’ll need them to stop Seekers eventually. Or at least try to stop them in 5Er.

So I might still back track even more on both accounts by getting either Mortars or Rocket Launchers. Neither truly look ideal but I feel the need to stack my bases up with as many buildings as possible just to clutter them up and provide distractions. Since I missed out on Smokes, I doubt I’ll pick up Seekers. I just strongly feel that Seekers are meant for those with Instant Training.

At any rate, I hope to pick up a bit more in a few hours. I’m beyond frustrated with that waste of cost Mech node. They really needed to put that elsewhere rather than being a forced node. Also, I hope getting that Barrage node helps. I feel like it should.
