Boom Beach: HQ25 Imitation Game Day All Boost Mega Resources Progress

I took a break from blogging about my progress through the latest HQ25 update since there wasn’t much to talk about recently so I could save everything for Friday’s Imitation Game. As always, Friday ends up being the best day for resources (outside of the Mega Crab event) so pretty much I go all out with the offensive boosts to handle the event but my PVP battles as well.

Right now, with the 3 extra levels for Artillery and Barrage as well as the extra GBE statue, I find the last stage of Imitation Game to be quite doable. It seems that Imitation Game is capping the stage 7 bases to HQ22, which is great because it’s one less Boom Cannon you know you’ll have to worry about as well as less levels for Boom Cannons, which means you’ll have a much easier time BARTing down the hardest defenses (well, if you’re a tank combo player like me).

I will say though unlike last week, I was not able to BART down the stage 4 base just because this one had a variety of defenses and usually my strategy is to drop my troops immediately in case I under estimate the defense and waste an attack. In those cases, I just do a normal attack to avoid the possibility of losing my spare attack, which I use for the last stage.

I know some people end up doing map clears and Fridays tend to be a good choice just because of the boost. But in my case, I try to avoid map clears as much as possible, knowing that Fridays I’m guaranteed to escalate my VP by at least one. The reason I try to avoid going beyond 5-6 VP is to keep the value low to avoid higher level PVP bases and just retain doable ones on my map. I suspect once the next update that contains the Weapon Lab, it will become far more difficult with HQ25 popping up on the map so it’s better to stay low as much as possible.

On my main account, I was able to pick off an incredibly loaded base that was juiced up with resources. I had saved it from before just because I figured a few prototypes would prove annoying. However, today was totally worth the effort, even though I ended up losing a single tank. But as it turns out, it’s also Troop Mania, which means 90% off all cost, including Diamonds for instant training. Using that, it only cost me a mere 2 Diamonds to get back my tank, making the sacrifice totally worth the effort.

At any rate, I left with plenty of resources to allow myself to easily score a Rocket Launcher level 14 on my main and 11 for my secondary account. Both still have a fair amount left over. Most likely, I will make the effort on Sunday to open my Trader Tickets and at the very least for my main account push for a level 15 Rocket Launcher as I expect my near 100 Trader Tickets to hit a couple of juicy resource packs.

Looking forward a bit, I believe next weekend will be a Mega Crab event. I’m going to make an effort to push my main account towards a Rocket Launcher level 16 for the end of next week, then use the weekend to build up resources with the Mega Crab event for either Boom Cannon upgrades or a Landing Craft. My secondary account is still lagging a bit behind and will be in a weird position for next week. So we’ll see how that goes in terms of upgrades.

Again, no word on anymore updates for the rest of this month. It is possible that we’ll see the 2nd update after next weekend’s Mega Crab. But the only thing I’ve read thus far is the Weapon Lab. I heard a hint of a possible new Prototype Weapon or Troop but that seems lame as a major update for HQ25. Thus, the only thing left to look forward to at this moment is the Weapon Lab since that will be a major game changer.

The other small thing is that I’m saving up big time on the Resource Boat. I know for one account, I haven’t touched it since returning. So I estimate roughly a little under 1 million in resources per week. A month can provide a pretty solid amount and I see no reason to use it with the Mega Crab coming up. Perhaps, next month I might give it a go for either account once I start focusing on really high defense levels such as the Boom Cannon. Some people say never touch the resource boat. I call bullshit and touch it once you figure you have enough and can really use it.

Either way, next week ought to be quite interesting with the Mega Crab event. Not sure how hard it will be but I do know October’s Mega Crab event will be rough. So by that point, I hope that we’ll see a major change in one of the later 3 updates that can influence our offense. And hopefully it won’t be some dorky prototype weapon or troop that’s locked away due to bad timing.
