Shaw Brothers Vengeance Kung Fu Movie Review

As a young child, I often watched the old Black Belt theater on channel 11 out here. At the time, I didn’t know them by name, but I would watch Shaw Brothers martial arts movies on Saturday afternoons and later switch to Kung Fu theater on channel 9 later in the evening. However, the Shaw Brothers movies always felt crisper and better produced. Before that though, I remember seeing a very old movie that I did not know the name at the time in which my parents rented. It was very memorable as a child for a single scene that was embedded into my memory for years. Only the other day, I was able to re-discover the exact movie we rented: Vengeance.

Python Flask: Message Flashing Session Issue

I have to say it: the Flask documents are pretty bad. The code is chunked up, abbreviated, poorly explained and no comments to really go through every little detail, which often leads to bizarre errors for the inexperienced programmer. Even for an experienced programmer, there’s some things that just are really mysterious or need far more depth. But I want to show something simple.

Diablo 3: The Darkening of Tristram Event Review

Since the PTR is out, I decided to give it a go and check out specifically the Darkening of Tristram event. I had seen Kripparian’s video where he posted a fairly scathing review and decided to see if it was worth his ire.

Weird Vagrant Error Warning: Authentication failure. Retrying…

I had shutdown my VirtualBox/Vagrant for a while and possibly had a system upgrade or messed around with my SSH keys. Either way, upon starting up again, I found that I no longer could use my SSH key to login. Not sure what happened, but here’s what I did to resolve the issue.

Boom Beach: Should You Build A Weapons Lab Early On?

Weapons Labs are one of the most expensive buildings in the game. The lower level one was reduced in price during the patch that introduced both the Grappler and Hot Pot prototype defenses. But with the high cost that rivals equally critical buildings when introduced, is it worth spending the resources?

Boom Beach: Are Statue Storage Useful for Lower Level Bases?

Statue Storage buildings weren’t initially available when I started playing Boom Beach. About midway through, they made an appearance and at first they seemed like a luxury item due to the high cost. I mean why build one of these when you can work on a Machine Gun, right?

Boom Beach: The Mistake of Not Using Resources to Level Immediately

Over the past few days, I managed to accumulate a fair amount of gold, which I had planned to use for upgrading my Medics to level 8. Currently, my Grenadiers are being worked on, which requires roughly 4 more days of waiting. I figured that I wouldn’t get attacked too much and not lose too many resources while waiting for the Grenadiers to complete. Guess what? Nope!

Boom Beach: Finally Defeated Hammerman 40 and Gearheart 45

It took me a while on my high level account to get to Hammerman 40 and Gearheart 45. Part of my procrastination was to get more of my troops and gunboat offenses up. Another aspect was to avoid getting the 5 VP and push myself too much. However, since this is an all troop at 90% discount weekend, I figured, what the heck? Besides, I had a bunch of boosts going so I think it was time.

Boom Beach: The Brutality of Leveling Underleveled Landing Craft

Landing Craft are some of the most important and expensive support type of buildings to upgrade, especially once you hit the upper mid game (~HQ16+). Right now, I’m getting my last landing craft (of my seven) to 15. From here on out, it becomes a lengthy grind towards 19.

Diablo 3: Necromancer Character Pack Announced at Blizzcon 2016

While the highly anticipated Diablo 4 or Diablo 3 expansion were not announced at Blizzcon 2016, the big news for Diablo 3 was a character pack for the Necromancer class. Earlier, it was “accidentally” unveiled of a poster showing a male and female Necromancer artwork on the Blizzard store, hinting at the possibility of an expansion. Instead, the wording was toned down (at least for expectations) for something called a character pack due for 2017.
