New Huuger TV Stand Dresser for My Living Room

I decided for my birthday to bite the bullet and purchase this Huuger TV Stand Dresser for my living room. Originally, I was looking at buffet bars and ended up deciding to waiting because they were either expensive or not a good fit for what I wanted. The alternative was a TV stand where I could place it under the back of the kitchen counter space. I had some other things in that area before like a step ladder, my dolly and an empty Lego box that took too much space. After cleaning that area up, I put together the TV stand and am pretty happy with it.

Originally, part of the idea here was to reclaim some of the space from my counter top by placing stuff like my unused Instant Pot there (since it’s huge). More than likely, the Instant Pot would be too bulky unless I pulled the stand out further but I think it’s fine the way it’s positioned. Instead, I figured I could use it partly as a display for my Lego and some extra books lying around on my apartment’s built in desk against the wall. Also, in getting this with the power adapter, I can use it to charge my mini vac and move my bathtub cleaner device to the back of the table here and charge it from that side.

Since there’s a USB port, I moved my spare sound bar over there where I can use it as a supplementary audio device for the room. I still have more adjustments to make in terms of shuffling things around but I’m hoping to make more space around the apartment while freeing up space that aren’t categorized well or pose some risks. Like one of my cabinets has a ton of old photographs from Japan stored in awkward position. I’ll probably move that under the little stand space to avoid those photos from falling down again and making a mess. Likewise, I’ve been trying to clean off my dining room table which has been abused as a spot for chips and junk snacks. So I’m temporarily moving them to the top of the TV stand shelf.

In the past, my mom used things like baskets for packaged candy or plate holders to stack up special dishes. Perhaps, I might look into getting some of those to further organize on the new TV stand. And I moved the white trash bin next to the stand which fits perfectly underneath. The benefit there is that I free up space next to the rolling wooden kitchen cart where I’ve frequently either kicked over the bin or the bin getting in the way of vacuuming in that little area. This should make moving the cart around a lot easier to vacuum underneath.

For the drawers, I’m keeping various manuals inside for now and spare things that don’t fit neatly anymore else like my Instant Pot rings. There’s the light to the right side of the stand that I haven’t used for a while. Because that area of the room has a bit of a dead spot in terms of illumination, I might look into getting smart bulbs or a smart switch. And the nice thing about having this new stand is that it’ll be much easier to store the spare bulbs in one of the drawers compared to before where I’d just dump everything on that counter haphazardly.

Overall, I’m loving this setup. One thing you might notice is that I have an old Dell system to the right of that TV stand. It’s pretty much inoperative and I need to remove the drive and take it to Best Buy to have it recycled. Getting rid of that system will free up even more space where I put something like a filing cabinet (which I do have in my spare room) or even my old paper shredder (which I don’t use but have in my spare room taking up space). Little by little, I’m finally making better use of this place’s space.
