I played a bit more aggressively on both accounts, trying to experiment with the new TH12 and pushing what I could in terms of upgrades. The Christmas trader bonus actually had a free Book of Heroes that I gladly took so combined those things helped get me a little further.
So after the various upgrades this morning, I did start a Clan Castle level 8 for my main account. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see any benefit for 10 days but the trader also had some Builder potions that I am using to expedite that. Another upgrade I went after was a Barracks to get the Yeti troop. Again, that will take about a week, but I’m not in a huge rush at the moment to make use of those.
With those all lined up, I started to use Ice Golems, Witches, a Wall Wrecker and Lightning Spells as my primary force. I might switch back to Electro Dragons but my goal in the short term is farming up regular Elixir so I can gradually turn my attention towards my Army Camps. In my Clan Castle, I’m using a Pekka, 2 Giants and Rage Spell. So basically, I’m having my Wall Wrecker push through bases where the Town Hall is directly in the middle, using a Rage spell to get through some heavier defenses and my Grand Warden’s ability to protect against the Eagle Artillery. Meanwhile, my Witches are obliterating the exterior.
At least on my main account, this attack has been getting me 3 stars each time. I haven’t been going after TH12s just yet as I want to master this attack. Not to mention I’m trying to aim for getting enough Elixir to eventually upgrade my Lightning spell. As of now, I’m using the Town Hall upgrade bonuses to power through my attacks.
I think besides the Army Camps, the really big upgrades I need to hit ASAP are the resource storage units. The Dark Elixir one seems like one of the most critical because I have a Rune of Dark Elixir saved up and can really use that to get that edge of more Dark Elixir. My initial target will be getting one more level of Witches just because I’m finding them to be incredibly powerful. But the only issue is that I doubt that I’ll be ready to use it by the time this current season is done just because I have that Electro Dragon upgrade going on. So I might save that once the season is over and put to use my seasonal bank for the Witch Upgrade.
Once though I manage to get my Army Camps upgraded along with finishing up my Clan Castle, effectively I will have +25 troops total. For my Army Camps, I’ll probably bolster them with two Baby Dragons to help with funneling and store another Giant for the Clan Castle. However, that does mean I’ll need to eventually upgrade my Pekkas and Giants on my old account since they feel pretty weak.
I will say though on my secondary account, this combination hasn’t been as effective. Some of that simply is due to how my army isn’t as upgraded as my main account. But I have been using a power potion and hero potion to boost their levels a bit. Also, I think I need to target better bases. Perhaps, for that account I might just focus on slightly weaker bases until my Lightning spell is upgraded.
That said, having that Wall Wrecker on my lower account is pretty awesome. I’m just happy that I can use other combos beyond just Electro Dragons especially to farm normal Elixir. I still need to farm up more resources for my seasonal bank though on that account just so I’ll have plenty available in a week’s time. It will probably take at least 2 more seasons before that account feels even close to a TH12. Maybe even more just because of the amount of time it takes for some buildings.
