Last night ended the season for Clash of Clans and I ended up with a fairly huge amount of resources as a result of purchasing the Gold Pass. Right now, it saddens me greatly that such a thing is necessary but what can you do in a P2W game like this. Nonetheless, I will say that I am making a fair amount of progress and am seeing some positive results.
First, I decided to take a 1 week shield so that I could finish up a few buildings. I just had too many resources and not enough time to really get to use them all without feeling vulnerable. Also, I purchased some Gems for finishing up various upgrades. In turn, I got to start a level 15 Grand Warden, a level 41 Barbarian King and an Archer Queen level 42. Not too shabby on that front. Also, I rushed my Witch research for my current level so that I could start on getting my Ice Golems upgraded. The plan here is to prepare having Ice Golems, Bowlers, Witches and some miscellaneous troops as my Dark Elixir group. I think these would work far better if I had a Wall Wrecker but that’s just not going to happen in the near future. But definitely for the next TH I will be aiming for this type of combo.
I think what will help in the near term is getting my 6th Builder once I finish getting enough resources from my Builder Base. My Battle Machine is almost on the cusp being level 28. I have an elixir I can use but am only going to employ it once the Battle Machine is at level 29. Until then, I’m going to attempt to grind out some normal elixir as I focus on a Double Cannon for the time being.
Once I get that 6th Builder going, I’m probably going to use him as a kind of free agent where I will just do small or quick upgrades like walls or low level traps. That way I can progress a little every day in terms of getting my walls a little more upgraded. I did use much of my spare resources from the seasonal bank to do some mega upgrades to my TH11 walls. So now those are at the same level as the bulk of my walls. From there I’m going to do a little upgrade every day, especially as I get cost reductions. In turn, I’m simply going to save and wait while collecting resources as right now I’ve got quite a few upgrades that are taking some time.
On the bright side, at least I have a better strategy for handling bases. Before I was too dependent upon Pekkas, which at this level would never burst through all the high level walls. So mostly I’m doing Electro Dragon rushes. At the moment, I can’t do anymore just because I depend upon my Archer Queen and Barbarian King to take down some of the defenses before deploying my air raids. But I’m liking the rush attack. If I had my main account again, I would be able to do more just with the extra spells. But until I get a new iPad, I’m pretty jammed.
