Boom Beach HQ25 Actual Progress


Rain Makers are proving to be the 2nd top troop in the game (at least in my opinion). The only troop better than Rain Makers are Heavy Choppas in being able to effectively create more troops as well as absorbing tons of damage (which is critical for heavily beached defenses). Luckily, the beached defenses today were not a factor.

Dr T’s Volcano Island tends to be the better of the two events when it comes to resources. I was fortunate on both accounts to have accumulated enough such that I could upgrade a Boom Cannon. This is a huge win because I’ve been having anxiety about recent attacks where my defenses and Vault are unable to fend for me. Even at 90% resource protection, that extra 10% makes a huge difference when you’re carrying 6 million resources and losing 600k per successful attack.

With these upgrades though, they put me at 2 maxed out Boom Cannons per account. This week might not make too much of a difference since the bulk of the players are going Rain Maker. But next week, I should see a major boost as that extra health will deny people attempting to Barrage/Artillery my big boy defenses down. Unfortunately though, I did end up using both resource boats. It was a necessary evil but well worth it in my estimate just because I can then focus the rest of the week on starting the gathering again.

On my main account, I’ve been slowly progressing through Warships season 27. I’ve decided to just farm chests to get keys and upgrade what I can. I managed to secure Shock Bombs and Boom Cannons yesterday. From there, I’m looking at the double Cannon node then Troop Damage before taking time to farm keys in heading towards 4ER.

Now, one node that I’m eyeing is Cryoneers. This might seem like a strange place and from what I can tell, no one is using them because they probably are too slow. But as I grind through 3ER, one thing I’m seeing is the rise of Boom Cannons. Without Medics nor Kavan, Cryoneers might be the only way of preventing heavy damage to my troops.

In addition, from what I’m reading with 4ER, the big problem comes once Rocket Launchers make an appearance. People are saying that their Hookas are failing and it’s impossible to see just why this is happening. Some people are going for Barrage while others are attempting to head straight to 6ER and save keys to avoid 5ER altogether. The other problem is that Rocket Choppas are failing from time to time in 4ER. The one reliable part seems to be Hookas with either Kavan or Everspark.

So I’m thinking to avoid big losses the way to handle this might be to use Cryoneers to lower damage and get that Medkit node fast. I think saving up chests for Medkit might be hard. So just seeing how 4ER is initially is something want to try. But ultimately the goal would be to eventually pick up Medics in 5ER.

Of course, all this depends on my willingness to keep going. It’s painful loading up a game then quitting once I see Boom Cannons. I feel without that Troop Damage node, it’s just going to be incredibly painful in trying not to fizzle whenever I encounter Boom Cannons.
