Most of my progress today continued pushing my Druid into T2 where I’m in this oddball spot as a result of not having one of the key uniques that can really propel this character forward. At the same time, I found a slightly alternate way to help gear for Chaos Armor on alts if you have a powerful character that has already completed the season quest line.
Right now, I’ve been noodling around with this Pulverize Druid. It’s a fairly good class, feels thick but very slow. Part of the problem is that I use a chaos version of the Banished Lord’s Talisman for my boots which means I’ve lost a good chunk of mobility. I think that version is probably better for pit pushing to be honest but my damage is just so high right now that I’m still trying to figure out what to do. The main issue with being slow on this build is Infernal Hordes. That part is brutal because your only source of speed is Crazy Brew. Now, the way a few guides have setup this build, it’s under the assumption you have the uniques Heir of Perdition and Shroud of False Death. Both would be great for me except I don’t have them yet. So I’m thinking the better way to handle this build until that point is to swap on some boots and use the unique on my amulet and go with a more traditional build. That way, I can start farming the 2H unique mace Rotting Lightbringer as a starter. Otherwise, it’s just too painful trying to get from point to point.
Also, I’m getting more tempted to start up a Spiritborn. Part of me wants to try the Evade build just because it’s both top tier, a good leveling build and not too bad to gear (I think I might even have a few Spiritborn uniques as a result of farming runes in the Kurask runs). However, the various builds list using A Beast Cornered for the unique perk. From what I’ve seen, this perk is really sketchy looking. Some people said it’s bugged because it’s taking more life than it should. You can use other perks but it is disappointing if the perk is bugged for certain as several other builds are affected. Nonetheless, it shouldn’t be that hard to get a Spiritborn going. The only thing is that I really need to finish my Druid’s season quest to obtain another spark.
Speaking of sparks, I found another Ring of the Starless Skies. It did not roll as well as the main one so I’m very tempted to shard it. On the other hand, having a spare makes playing the Druid a little easier since I don’t have to worry about swapping around gear as much. Another thought is to just go pure Ravens and farm up some gear for that build. Some people apparently are using a squishy version that does not use Grizzly Rage. Others have reported to get the aspect and Unique and go straight to T4. So my thinking is that I might save my Pulverize build and swap to the Raven build since I do have the unique pants (not sure if it’s ancestral). Main thing is that I have the Ring of the Starless Skies spare too so I can just try this other build out since Pulverize is in a weird state for me.
Now, I did mention a technique for farming chaos uniques using a higher torment character. Since you can get additional rewards once you finish up the seasonal quest, you can save the caches and have them opened by your alts. When that happens, your alts will receive the gear for their class. And from what I can tell that cache guarantees one chaos armor unique. It’s not exactly the most efficient manner of farming chaos uniques, but it is an alternate method if you’re looking to start new characters and don’t quite have any useful gear and do not have a good build for handling Infernal Hordes. Otherwise, you could just spend Obols at the vendor and hope and pray something good shows up.
At any rate, I think the plan is to convert my Druid back to a companion build with Ravens and just try out a normal build with minimal chaos armor and finish up the season quest to obtain another spark. I don’t have much more to go so I’ll probably do that for a bit.
On the other hand, I pushed my Sorcerer a little by moving her up to T4 and getting her to Pit 65. I’m inching my way to Pit 70 to get the seasonal journey achievement done. I think the more annoying ones will be Lilith on T4 and the mastery local events. I managed to do the Infernal Hordes achievement on T4 pretty easily because I hit a juicy goblin rift from the chaos portals. Also, just for fun, I went around on T3 to do the other two boss fights I avoided last season. So now, I’ve done every single boss in the game.
Along those lines, I managed to finally find an ancestral Tal Rasha ring. It wasn’t ideal in the rolls but I figured I’d just masterwork it to make it usable. Also, I swapped out my Lochran’s Talisman for a normal Ancestral because my movement speed got hit when I took out her old boots to get Attacks reduce evade cooldown. However, I did put Armor, Mana per second and Intelligence on it and got some nice rolls. So she’s only slow in towns and would benefit greatly from a Shroud of False Death. But with these changes, I’m able to zip around a bit better with having more cheap teleports via the Teleport Enchant for Evade.
I have been trying to farm for Mythics and getting the right ones is damn near impossible. It’s a wonder at all how I managed to secure the really good Starless Skies one much less a second one. But considering that I’m enjoying the season well enough, I can see myself getting more sparks from the season quest on alts. But I do think that the droprate for Mythics must be exceptionally low. Someone suggested that chaos armor might be interfering with the drop rate table. I mean, I did find two from killing bosses on lower difficulties so it’s not out of the question. It’s just that you still have to go through a lot of fights before seeing the ones you need. And many of them are useless.
