Diablo 3: An End to an Era for Me

I finally decided to uninstall Diablo 3 from my gaming machine. I gave the latest season a try. The entire leveling process felt more painful than ever where my patience and broken finger decided that enough is enough. While I’ve had fun over the years of trying each season out, the lack of new development, having no friends on to play with and just zero excitement for the game made me realize that it’s time to call it quits.

Part of the issue here is that I decided to choose a bad starting class in the Demon Hunter. While I love the GoD set, I didn’t realize just how bad of a starting set it was. I can’t recall the last time this set was using as a starting set but it felt bad especially because I had mostly horrible RNG with regards to drops. The only things I managed to score which weren’t bad were a Ring of Royal Grandeur and a Goldwrap. Even playing Expert mode felt awful because everything had too much health and I could not figure out a decent build due to horrible drops.

The last straw came when I went into one of those Visions and just got slaughtered mercilessly. Maybe my approach this season was entirely wrong but I felt like my efforts kept getting wasted. Like I picked up a Windforce shit bow from crafting which depleted my 25 DBs and later a worthless quiver. The Rift I tried had nothing except speed pylons and I couldn’t figure out a way to boost my damage without compromising some of the gear I picked up at lower levels that effectively were keeping me alive.

Needless to say, I think this was just a hint from the game telling me that Blizzard sucks and to stay away from the toxic company, games and community. I was very tempted to completely delete the entire Blizzard launcher from my computer as well as Diablo 4 but then that would leave my gaming laptop almost worthless and feel as though I had wasted a ton of money on nothing. But maybe I did and didn’t learn my lesson from the old Ultima 7 days when a company built up an overrated game that required high end specs just to run it because their developers though pushing the boundaries than developing a good game meant something.
