Today, I managed to finish up my Golemancer in terms of the story mode and entered her into mapping. Pretty much I managed to get to T8 maps (level 82) with no issues with the Merciless Lab and easily 1-shotting Kitava on Act 10. As the servers are being restarted, I decided to take the rest of the night off and review my experience for today.
Month: November 2018
So I ended up pulling the trigger on starting up a Golemancer Elementalist. I had progressed her to level 73 and was about to beat act 9 when the game crashed. In turn, I decided to take a break and just meditate over the leveling experience thus far.
So I finished up Act 10 and got into maps last night. Right before that, I hit level 75 and equipped a Doriyani’s Catalyst for a nice starter damage upgrade then immediately did Merciless lab. Right now, I would say things are pretty explosive.
I just saw a video where they showed Asmongold reacting quite favorably towards the newest announcement of Path of Exile: Betrayal. He was talking about how this upcoming league might cause him to switch from being a pure World of Warcraft streamer to a variety streamer (if not at least Path of Exile for the league). Similarly, GiantWaffle just started playing the new Delve league today possibly in anticipation for the upcoming league. In addition over on Twitch, there has been a great deal of new players, many of whom are ex Diablo 3 players. While that’s going on, Diablo 3 will be getting a minor seasonal update with some small rebalancing (read: higher numbers). Many indications are pointing that this upcoming league, we may see GGG and Path of Exile go much more mainstream.
With this week being short, I was able to get a little more Path of Exile time, which led me to push my Blade Vortex Elementalist a bit further and starting up a Guardian Dominating Blow/Herald of Purity character. I’ll discuss both in terms of my current progress.
Recently, I hit a point in the current Delve league where I felt my main started to bore me a bit. Mostly, it was just hitting a ceiling in terms of feeling I couldn’t push without better gear and leveling from 92 had become dreary, especially after dying a few times and losing a ton of experience. That made me turn to a few alternative projects after seeing a few Youtube and Twitch clips. In turn, I decided to try a Glacial Hammer Champion, Toxic Rain Trickster and Blade Vortex Elementalist.
Although I am a day late to the impression write up game, I wanted to present my thoughts on the upcoming patch 3.5 Betrayal League/Expansion for Path of Exile nonetheless. I did write up some ideas that I had hypothesized for what the new league would entail and want to see how they compared to what we will get.
Diablo Immortal Aftermath Thoughts
Well, the aftermath from the Diablo Immortal mobile game announcement has been quite controversial to say the least. Many high end streamers are up in arms with their chats calling Blizzard out on the situation. For myself, I honestly didn’t care one way or another.
So I made a little more progress to my Sunder Juggernaut and created a new Vaal Reave Ascendant. Both are very fun but I did hit a few walls here and there and wanted to discuss my experiences with both, especially my Ascendant as that has been a recent project.
Is Blizzard Dead?
Watching Blizzcon 2018 this year was exceptionally painful. In years past, I felt excitement in awaiting the new content. This year’s opening ceremony hurt to the point where you could feel a certain lament. Pretty much I just wanted to hear the announcements but the tone from Morhaime and the lack of general mentions of content was a preview to sheer disappointment. But there’s a bigger thing that is underlying what we’re seeing: the actual death of Blizzard.
