This season has been a very odd one. You had shockers, slowness and major divergence from the books. Yet this particular episode delivered on a variety of levels especially on the emotional level.
I’m at the point in non-season where I managed to acquire a reasonable amount of gear for each toon/class x2 that I wanted to provide an overall assessment of things since patch 2.2. I can’t speak for certain specific builds that require extraordinary gear (like an Ancient Kridershot) but just my experience with sets and how I managed to gear up as close as possible to some ideal builds.
Just like how Sansa Stark referred to herself as the “stupid little girl” back in King’s Landing, I’m going to refer to the vast majority of the internet as being the “stupid little people” for their overreactions towards Sansa’s storyline, most notably in Episode 6 of Season 5. While I can understand how book readers might be angry over the major change in direction with her character, the vast public consider what happened to her as merely “shock theater” because Game of Thrones, the TV series, does things in a gratuitous manner.
I love how Twitter/the internet practically explodes at the end of every Game of Thrones episode. The main thing is that the show enjoys the controversy by putting you on the edge of your seats. Season 5 Episode 6 is no exception to that rule.
Diablo 3’s 3rd anniversary has been marked this year with a special (not a) Cow Event which pays homage to Diablo 2’s Secret Cow Level. The event made me realize that Diablo 3 ought to have more events like this one on a very frequent basis, which will be the basis of discussion for this blog.
One of the most important scenes that came out extremely subtly was where Maester Aemon and Samwell Tarly discuss Daenerys Targaryen and her conquest over Slaver’s Bay. The scene is important as Maester Aemon discusses the implications of what it means to be a lone Targaryen in the world, especially one like Daenerys who has no true mentor from her family who can help guide her. Yet there is one line that should not be missed.
I’m still digesting the end part of tonight’s Game of Thrones. I felt that of all the episodes thus far, this episode was closer to A Dance With Dragons than others in this season with more content emphasizing histories and back stories. There’s still some stuff that diverges from the novel but the overall gist is there.
Last night was awesome in terms of getting gear. I decided to switch back to playing a Witch Doctor out of boredom in playing my barbarian and demon hunter a bit much lately. For her I was missing one key piece of gear…was…
Activision/Blizzard announced their Q1 2015 earnings and one of the not-so-shocking results was the subscription loss in World of Warcraft. Specifically, the loss amount to 2.9 million subscribers, which is a pretty massive loss ($43,500,000 in revenue per month potentially). What happened? And why is this not exactly surprising?
While I do have some time to play during the week, most of my progress for Diablo 3 comes exclusively on the weekends. This weekend my main target was to finish putting together an Unhallowed Essence build which I managed to accomplish. So I’d like to share some thoughts on that as well as other things I’ve been working on along the way.
