Japanese girls defy any common sense; at least, conventional wisdom, logic and anything that makes sense for a normal person. One of my favorite instances is how these young girls will save all their pennies for a Louis Vutton bag but be completely willing to starve themselves or eat crap food. There's one girl at work who is like this. I feel bad for her, but as some people have said, she's just too stupid. It's sad in a pathetic way that you can attempt to offer someone like that all the help in the world, but they cannot for the life of them see nor appreciate what you do for them. She used to work at a hostess club so I think that whole environment fucked her mind and values up pretty badly. I have a feeling that even though she's cute, she'll put off getting married for a long time because her standards are messed up and her sense of normality is derived from manipulating people through her cuteness.
I had a conversation with a friend the other night and she (a Japanese girl herself) admitted that Japanese girls are little devils. Pretty face, innocent smile, but they're very manipulative and you can't trust them. It's kinda funny how Western men would find this myth of coming out here to marry. Then after finding their cute little dream wife, they'll suddenly realize to their horror how fucked up the bitch is. I don't recall any Japanese guys really complaining about this, maybe they know how to control the situation better or just understand/accept it.
For instance, I knew this guy at one of my previous companies. An Australian guy. Earned decent income. His wife was very cute. But once she got the ring, she basically changed 180 degrees. Became lazy, got pregnant, ditched him to handle everything and he got pretty mad, especially after buying a new house. I was like, "Ah! You found out!"
I've heard numerous horror stories like this. Western people tend to seem to sympathize with Japanese women because of their plight. But believe it or not women here are pretty cunning in their own right and have become survivors, creating their own system.
Of course, the problem you get as a result is this mixture where you cannot easily predict the behavior of one woman to the next. Part of the values is definitely generational and you can see the differences in personalities between each 5 years.
Then you get the women who have been overseas and come back and are messed up as well because they have a hard time adjusting to their roles in Japanese society.
But when I say I don't understand Japanese girls, it's mostly the first type, the young girls who are materialistic followers of people like Ayumi Hamasaki or Koda Kumi. They have their own form of logic that's non-linear, doesn't connect to anything remotely human (sensible). I mean, starving yourself over a bag or because you're afraid that you don't have chicken legs. It really makes me wonder how people like that will be survive in their 40's and up.
