Women as Project Managers

I've worked with guys and women as project managers.  Perhaps, because I'm a guy I tend to find working with women easier.  But the male project managers I've worked with tend to be harder, less empathetic.  My current PM on the project is just a grinder; he merely checks on tasks, but spends little time on details nor the effort put forth by the members of the team.  My feeling is that he only cares about his own glory and visibility.  The female projects were better at the communication aspects though.  Although they tend not to be as detail oriented in terms of the technical aspect, the critical aspect was being understanding towards the members of the team.  Keeping good morale for a project and especially the members perhaps is more important than the tasks at times.
