Death Star 2???!?!?!

Holy shit! They actually are producing the Death Star from Return of the Jedi! There was an April Fools joke a few years ago that Lego would produce this thing as a billion part million dollar scheme, but it looks like they took this more seriously than we would believe. Considering they did the Star Destroyer at 3000+ pieces, it shouldn't surprise any avid Star Wars Lego fan that these guys will do anything for profit and fun. Looking at the new model (set for September), it looks quite unsteady. The stand (which has traditionally been these models' weakest point) looks like it'll splinter from the thinness. It'll be primarily plates according to the picture at nearly 2'x2'. Quite impressive. However, I think this thing is something you end up gluing together because it looks too unstable. Like the Star Destroyer, I think it's better for spare parts used to create a better, sturider model. Overall, I think Lego should let this be the last of the "Ultimate Collectors" line because they simply are too large to keep around. It seems that they put all their best model makers into the Star Wars line up. I hope that these guys eventually return to more traditional areas like the city themes (the Mobile Crane is an excellent example of what Lego can do when they put the effort into something).
