The current Lego town theme is more action based. People have compared it to Playmobile. However, the real play value of Lego is in the ability to mix and match in creating new themes. The current Lego town simply reiterates the usual police, fire, gas, race every three years. But there hasn't been any innovation on the actual town itself for a long time. If they did bring it back, here's my wish list: 1) Lego Shopping Center. Modular, similar to how the old Grey castle lego would be combined using a connector to increase the size of a castle. You could have all types of stores like groceries, ATM, electronics store, food court, arcade, clothes shop, pet store and a grand department store. I'm sure this would be a hit among Lego enthusiasts. 2) Library. All towns should have a library. Mid-sized set. 3) College/school. Complements the library 4) Super market. Crosses over on the Lego Mall concept, but it's also an independent set. People just can't live off of the convenient stores! 5) Cement factory. Bring back the old Public Works Center. Classic, underrated and extremely rare set. 6) Sea Museum. Basically a Lego Sea World. They already have dolphins, sharks, craps, so this is a logical choice. 7) Concert Hall. They need Lego instruments. Drums guitars, and keyboard props. I'm surprised Lego doesn't partly sponsor some band like Aerosmith :) (think of the Lego babes :) 8) Bar. Okay, not really for kids, but it does make things complete, right? 9) Grand Hospital. There's been what, 2 or 3 hospitals in existence (if you exclude the Dacta version)? They produce so many fire and police stations that you can create your own Mega Station. But Hospitals? They need more square space for all the patients! 10) Farm. They've implied this set in the past with the Universal Building sets, but they never had an official, non-duplo version. 11) Zoo. Like the Sea World concept, except they can import some of the animals from Duplo, etc. Probably someone should enumerate how many animals Lego has in existence and see if they can produce their own version! 12) Video store. I'm thinking Clerks :) seriously, maybe co-sponsorship with Blockbuster? That would be sweet! I'd buy four! 13) Movie theatre. They had one setup in the old Lego Ideas book. They should bring back a revamped version using some of the ideas there. 14) Bus/Taxi stop. The Bus stop was a great concept. Too bad they only made one set and now it's impossible to find :( 15) Park. It'll be nice seeing some set that's in a more natural area, with trees, gardens, and swings for kids.
