Lost Ark: Tier 2 Progression

Since I started working on my Shadowhunter in Rohendel and getting fairly far in the past two days, I decided that it was time to stop procrastinating and move my Gunlancer into Yorn. Took me all night to get him to that point but it felt very satisfying since Yorn really isn’t that long of a quest line with two dungeons and a few scenarios thrown in.

Originally, I was setting up my people for dailies but I came to realize that I had no one in Yorn. Also, my sorceress has been getting closer and closer to moving towards Punika/Tier 3 gearing so I figured it would be a good time to get more people into Tier 2.

I started my day with preparing my Gunslinger as she just got to level 50 with the Knowledge Transfer feature. Very fun playing her in Chaos Dungeons and I already like her a lot more than my Deadeye. Just her shotgun abilities with having better range makes the class feel so much better, in particular Sharpshooter was a pleasant surprise. It pretty much is a heavier version of Equilibrium and does a great job of AoE clearing.

Early on someone from my guild informed us that the daily Adventure Island event involved gold. Interestingly enough, the island also has a boss that I need for a particular skill rune (Wealth). Unfortunately, I could not procure it this time around but I did manage to at least get 500 gold from the clear and some good pirate coins too.

Another interesting event I tried was Shangria. I had been meaning to do that for sometime just because I wanted the Song of Spring. Luckily, the 2nd quest pretty much guarantees it. The rest of the event is just farming peaches. Eventually, I just got bored and left the island.

In addition, one other thing I started working was procuring more Island Souls. I got one from the Giant Mushroom, Astella and Kalthertz. The main reward I was aiming for was the Greater Skill Potion. I can say with certainty +6 skill points is just HUGE.

Along the way, I manage to procure another Masterpiece while questing on Yorn. With that, I will be able to get the Sunflower Island Soul. It’s not going to give me anything at this stage in terms of rewards, but it’s just inching forward a bit more.

Another thing I manage to progress was my Paladin. My first goal was to get him to ilvl 460 and thereafter put him on farm for honing materials while doing dailies. Pretty much that’ll be the main uses for my Paladin, Gunslinger, Scrapper and even the Deadeye just to build up my Una Reputation.

I don’t think I’ll do much with my Deadeye moving forward. But I might try pushing at least the Gunslinger because she’s a lot of fun to play. I have encountered a few key issues with her once in a while like getting stunned, knocked down or ganged upon. Generally speaking though, the class plays pretty smooth. Very fast with four different movement abilities. So as long as you don’t get overwhelmed, this class is just a better version of a Deadeye.

In addition, I’m leveling my Deathblade a little too. While there are some similarities to a Shadowhunter, I feel that the Shadowhunter plays a lot smoother. The main thing for me is how the back attack thing becomes an issue as well as some of the animation locks. But this is still early and usually, classes start feeling powerful around level 30. Mine is only level 20 so I still don’t have a good feeling for the class.

My poor Artillerist is just doing dailies and Guardian Raids. I probably should farm more T3 mats every day but I figure it might be better to use the rest bonus while I’m more interested in other classes at the moment.

But I’m pretty happy about where my Gunlancer is at the moment. I predict that in a few days, he’ll be in Feiton. His main limitation is Lifestones. Quite honestly, Yorn with a nicely geared Gunlancer was a breeze. So I might push my Shadowhunter once I get my Gunlancer into Feiton just to have several people in Tier 2.

That does leave a lot of excess Tier 1 materials. So once my Gunslinger hits ilvl 460, I’ll need to pick someone else to move up. I might try my Scrapper just to have a Martial Arts class in that group. However, in truth, my Scrapper isn’t all that exciting and Chaos Dungeons tend to be a pain with her. So I might go with a Gunslinger just because she is what the Deadeye should have been.

One thing I did do though was look at the unreleased classes when I was querying for more information on the Destroyer. At this point in time, I would say the only class that stimulates my interest in that group is the Summoner. But I figure that’s months away. I still might go with a Glavier to get another Martial Class. However, I want to see how Deathblade turns out first.

Lastly, I’m still undecided about that supporter pack. The Vanquisher Pack is the only one that might be decent just because of the Crystals, which I’m nearly out of. However, admittedly, I ordered a pizza today so I sacrificed my weekly allowance for food for a few days. Not to mention, I got a small pack on one of my Clash of Clans accounts.

My main concern is just general sustainability with the game. While I do enjoy it, the reality is that my guild is dying rapidly. I’m the most active player at this point and almost the only active player. Everyone else got burnt out or demotivated by lack of progression and the inability to play with other friends. Because of the penalties for leaving a guild, I’m pretty much jammed. I could always form my own guild and just park all my alts in there. But I think leveling one up from scratch would be a nightmare.

Either way, things are picking up nicely. I’m looking forward to moving my Gunlancer into Feiton as well as continuing to push my sorceress closer to Tier 3 and Punika.
